Send a counter-notice

Use this if something you posted was removed after a copyright complaint and you believe that was a mistake — because you own the work, because you have permission, or because the complaint identified the wrong thing.

Read this first

A counter-notice is not a private message to us. By law we pass your name, postal address and telephone number to the person who sent the original complaint, and if they do not go to court we put the material back in 10 to 14 business days.

So this is the wrong form if what you want is for the photo to stay down, or if the person complaining is someone you would rather not give your address to. If a photo of you was posted without your consent, use the report form instead — nothing there is passed to anybody.

Where the material was before it was removed optional The card link if you have it. If you cannot find it, describe it below — we can match it to the removal. What was removed, and why the complaint is wrong Identify the material as precisely as you can, and say why you believe it was removed by mistake or misidentified. Your email We reply here with a case number. Nothing else is ever sent to it. Your name optional Our case number for the removal optional It was in the email telling you the material had been removed. It is the fastest way for us to tie the two together, but we can find it without. Postal address Required by law, and passed to the complainant. Telephone number Also required, and also passed on.

Statements I state under penalty of perjury that I have a good-faith belief the material was removed or disabled as a result of mistake or misidentification. I consent to the jurisdiction of the U.S. federal district court for the district where my address is located, or where Fibs may be found if my address is outside the United States. I will accept service of process from the person who sent the complaint, or their agent.

Screenshot or document optional One file, up to 10MB. It is never posted anywhere and nobody but our review team can open it. If you do not have a copy, that is fine — a description is enough.
